Our Story

In the highlands of Northwest Cameroon, under the shade of banana, kola nut, and orange trees, a quiet revolution is growing.

Kribi Coffee founded the Cameroon Coffee Collective™ to protect and elevate one of the world's richest coffee landscapes — and the communities who bring it to life.

Built in collaboration with the farmers themselves, the Collective is driven by a simple belief: when farmers lead the future of coffee, everyone wins.

Our Roots Run Deep

The story of the Cameroon Coffee Collective begins long before Kribi Coffee was founded.

Our founder, Jacques Shalo, was born and raised on his family’s coffee farm in Mabonji, Cameroon — a small village where coffee wasn’t just a crop, but a way of life.

From his earliest days, Jacques lived the rhythms of the land: the harvests, the rains, the celebrations that came with each season’s yield. Years later, after building Kribi Coffee in the United States, Jacques never lost sight of where it all started.

The lessons from Mabonji inspired a vision: create a new path for Cameroon’s farmers — one rooted in empowerment, collaboration, and pride.

The Cameroon Coffee Collective is that vision in action. Born from family. Built for community. Grown to honor a place we still call home.

From Our Beginnings

Formerly known as the Kribi Coffee Farm Collaborative™, this project began as a focused effort to uplift partner farms in the Mt. Oku and Boyo Valleys.

As the community grew — and the farmers took ownership of their future — it became clear this movement was bigger than any one company. The name changed. The mission expanded.

Today, the Cameroon Coffee Collective™ stands for everyone who cultivates this land with pride.
